Desktop Monitoring App

See the workday, not just the timesheet

Most HRMS platforms stop at check-in and check-out. FlexPayroll ships a desktop app that captures screenshots on a schedule your admin sets, scores activity from keyboard and mouse use, and shows which apps got the hours — with employee privacy designed in, not bolted on.

The FlexPayroll difference

A desktop app most HRMS simply don't have

Attendance software tells you when someone checked in. Our desktop agent shows you what the day actually looked like: periodic screenshots on a schedule you control, activity levels from keyboard and mouse counts, and which applications got the hours. It is the difference between trusting a timesheet and being able to check it.

  • Screenshots captured at the interval your admin sets
  • Activity levels from keystroke & mouse counts — never the content typed
  • App and window-title tracking, so hours map to real work
  • Check-in, breaks and worked time feed straight into attendance and payroll

What the agent records

Enough to verify, not to spy

Screenshots on schedule

Periodic captures of the active screen at the interval the admin configures, with optional blurring for sensitive roles.

Activity levels

Key presses and mouse actions counted into an activity percentage. Counts only — what is typed is never stored.

Apps & window titles

Which application and window had focus, so you can see where the hours went. Titles only, never contents.

Privacy pause

Employees can pause tracking for personal moments, and nothing records outside working hours or after check-out.

Captures are grouped per employee, per day, with the app, window title and activity level alongside each one. Click any capture for a closer look.

The admin policy that decides what is captured, and how often

Capture frequency, blur level and working-hours limits are all set by the admin. Employees always see when monitoring is on.

How it works

Rolled out in an afternoon

The agent installs like any desktop app. The policy — who is tracked, how often, and what happens to the captures — is set once by your admin and applies from the next check-in.

1

Install the desktop app

Employees install the lightweight agent on their work machines. It sits in the tray, shows its status openly, and starts with check-in — not with the computer.

2

Admin sets the policy

Capture interval, screenshot blur, app tracking and privacy pause are configured centrally in FlexPayroll, per team. Change it once and every agent follows.

3

Review in FlexPayroll

Screenshots, activity levels and top apps appear against each employee's day, next to the same attendance record the payroll run reads from.

Monitoring FAQ

Monitoring questions, answered

Three things: periodic screenshots at the interval your admin sets, activity counts (key presses and mouse clicks or scrolls — never the actual content typed), and the name and window title of the app in focus. Nothing is recorded outside working hours or after check-out.

Yes — that is the point of the admin policy. You choose the capture interval, whether captures are stored blurred, which teams the policy applies to, and whether app tracking is on at all. Change the policy centrally in FlexPayroll and every installed agent follows it from the next check-in.

Yes. The agent shows its status in plain sight, and if the admin allows it employees can use a privacy pause for personal moments. Monitoring done quietly breeds resentment; done openly it mostly just answers questions before they are asked.

That is where it earns its keep. Screenshots and activity levels give managers of remote staff the context an office walk-past used to, and because the same agent records check-in, breaks and worked time, the payroll run does not care where anyone sat.
